Correct. If you resort to violence you are a coward. You cannot fight violence with violence, only nonviolence can win against violence. You cannot fight hate with hate, only love can win against hate.
You want a revolution? You want one based on violent means? Then the freedom you gain will be laid on the foundation of violence and it will be a culture of violence that perpetuates further violence in the name of “peace” and that society will crumble just like this one is crumbling. A revolution through violent means will fail outright as has been seen again and again throughout history. The only real revolutions, the only successful revolutions that create lasting change have been carried out through nonviolence.
Those who carry weapons are cowards; they are afraid so they carry means of offense. True bravery and courage is exhibited by those who walk the battlefield without arms of any kind aside from the infinite well of selflessness and love that must be drawn upon. The man who faces his enemy naked and full of love for this enemy is ten thousand times more brave and a million times more effective than the jackass ready to kill for self-protection. Violence is utterly selfish. How can one create a selfless society based on selfish means?
If you allow your hatred and anger against some “oppressor” to overtake you and you resort to violence to eradicate this “oppressor” then what makes you any better than that “oppressor?” Nothing. You are the same; you have become the oppressor. If you think you are truly a more noble person then prove it. If you think you are truly braver, then prove it.
You and the oppressor are one and the same. There is no divide between you, the separation is an illusion. The oppressor is your brother, he is part of your family. You allow yourself to be oppressed because you fear the violence that they might commit against you. You fear the oppressor because you do not understand unconditional love. You fear the oppressor because you do not understand who or what you are.
Violence begets violence and it is not a solution. Purge from your mind any thoughts of violence. You cannot fight fire with fire. This is the most ridiculous phrase ever conceived. You fucking fight it with water.
Satyagraha, Satyagraha, Satyagraha. Embrace it or leave the revolution to those who actually know how to carry out a revolution.
